This Sunday we begin our annual Missions & Stewardship reminders. Pastor will bring the 11 a.m. message and in the 6 p.m. we will host the Owens who hope to plant a church in Taiwan. We have Missionaries in both morning and evening services next week November 11th and again on November 25th in the a.m. The 18th – 20th will be Evangelist Dwight Smith.
Bible Baptist contributes support monthly to about 45 Missionaries and projects. Last year we gave over $90,000 to missions and over 12,000 to benevolence through the church. We own 2 buses, 2 cars, 5 acres of property with over 25,000 square feet of buildings and all of these are paid in full and the church does not have a lien or mortgage. How is this all possible? Because of the tithes and offerings of God’s people and wise stewardship. Each year our deacons and finance committee plan a budget based upon last years budget and the spending and needs of the church.
Our church ministries have grown with the attendance and membership and today it takes a little over $7,000 per week for the church to operate and support World Missions.
There are no fund raisers or bake sales or car washes because as in all other areas we simply follow the Bible way of doing things and we live within our means.
God’s people are taught to give back to God a tenth of what we make and the principle of generous giving to spread the gospel around the world. We are promised that God will bless a cheerful giver and that His blessings protect what we have left if we are faithful to give Him the tithe.
For 33 years I have taught you and asked you to join me in giving to the Lord’s work here a tithe of what you earn and a gift to missions. The regular systematic giving of God’s people allows us to plan a budget and commit to missionaries the help they need for World Evangelism.
Paul wrote in 2nd Corinthians 9:6-15 on the subject of giving. Verse 7-8 says, “Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:”
Please join me in praying that God will bless with what we need to give to His work to meet the needs of the ministry He has called us to accomplish.

P.S. Don’t forget to turn your clocks back one hour Saturday November 3rd for the time change.
