Most Christian parents are aware that the Bible instructs them to raise their children in the “nurture and admonition” of the Lord. But we sometimes forget that that command follows another one, and until we are obedient to the first, we will struggle with the second. What does raising our children have to do with the filling of the Spirit, and the command to “submit ourselves to one another”?
