Cain and Abel, the first sons of Adam and Eve, were born outside of the Garden of Eden, after the fall. They did not enjoy the same relationship with God that their parents had originally. To have fellowship with Him, they needed a means of approaching Him. One son approached the Lord by faith, believing the way that He had provided was sufficient. The other did not.
