The disciples were discouraged. The Lord had just told them (again) that He would be leaving them. They couldn’t imagine a future without Him. They still didn’t fully understand everything He had been teaching them. So, with only a few hours before His arrest and crucifixion, Jesus gave them words of comfort. And those same words can comfort us when our hearts are troubled, too.
