WHAT REVIVAL IS
Revival comes only from God towards those who confess a need for it by removing any obstacles in the way and believing in the possibility of it happening in their own hearts first before anything else. It is the breaking down of walls and the confessing of sins to God in order to bring about a new desire to be revived in a right relationship with God. Revival is literally reviving your relationship with Christ by getting right and reviving your passion, enthusiasm, and spirit towards the things of God.
HOW TO TELL WHEN WE NEED REVIVAL
- WHEN WE DO NOT LOVE HIM AS WE ONCE DID
- WHEN EARTHLY INTERESTS AND OCCUPATIONS ARE MORE IMPORTANT TO US THAN ETERNAL ONES
- WHEN CHURCH DINNERS ARE BETTER ATTENDED THAN PRAYER MEETINGS
- WHEN WE HAVE LITTLE OR NO DESIRE FOR PRAYER
- WHEN OUR CHRISTIANITY IS JOYLESS AND PASSIONLESS
- WHEN WE KNOW THE TRUTH IN OUR HEADS BUT ARE NOT PRACTICING IT IN OUR LIVES
- WHEN WE MAKE LITTLE EFFORT TO WITNESS TO THE LOST
- WHEN WE HAVE TIME FOR SPORT, RECREATION, AND ENTERTAINMENT, BUT NOT TIME FOR BIBLE STUDY AND PRAYER
- WHEN OUR CHILDREN ARE GROWING UP TO ADOPT WORLDLY VALUES, SECULAR PHILOSOPHIES, AND UNGODLY LIFESTYLES
- WHEN WE ARE MORE CONCERNED ABOUT OUR CHILDREN’S ATHLETIC ACTIVITIES THAN ABOUT THE CONDITION OF THEIR SOULS
- WHEN SIN IN THE CHURCH IS SWEPT UNDER THE CARPET
- WHEN WE TOLERATE “LITTLE” SINS OF GOSSIP AND A CRITICAL SPIRIT
- WHEN OUR HEARTS ARE COLD AND OUR EYES ARE DRY
- WHEN PEOPLE HAVE TO BE ENTERTAINED TO BE DRAWN TO CHURCH
- WHEN OUR MUSIC AND DRESS BECOME PATTERNED AFTER THE WORLD
- WHEN WE HAVE TO BE BEGGED TO GIVE AND TO SERVE IN THE CHURCH
- WHEN THE LOST WORLD DOESN’T KNOW OR CARE THAT WE EXIST
- WHEN WE ARE MAKING LITTLE OR NO DIFFERENCE IN THE WORLD AROUND US
- WHEN WE ARE BLIND TO THE EXTENT OF OUR NEED AND DON’T THINK WE NEED REVIVAL, THAT IS WHEN WE NEED IT THE MOST
In Psalm 85:6, we see the psalmist crying out to God “Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?” He was serious about seeing revival take place, in his own life and in others. It meant something to him. Are you serious about seeing revival take place in your life, your home, your church, and your community? Let’s get serious about REVIVAL.
